Frequently Asked Questions

Should I hire a car?
Yes – it is easier than trying to reach us by public transport, and you’ll also be able to visit nearby beaches, cultural sites, shops and restaurants during your stay. We have plenty of space for parking.
There can be long queues at the car rental desks in Malaga airport, so it may be quicker to use a company where you take a shuttle bus to their office nearby. Also, watch out as cheap deals you can find through booking or price comparison websites may not include the fuel and insurance charges payable when you pick up the car. Recently, guests have found good deals with no hidden charges (and a quick and easy pickup) with: www.malagacar.com or: www.hellehollis.com
If you don’t drive, we can usually arrange a pick-up from Malaga airport or Torre del Mar bus station.

How far is the nearest supermarket / beach?
The nearest large supermarkets are just as you leave the A7 motorway at Velez-Malaga, and we suggest you call in there on your way from the airport.
There are beautiful beaches all along the coast. The closest gay / naturist beach is Almayate just beyond Velez-Malaga / Torre del Mar (about 30 minutes away), although we prefer Cantarrijan which is a little bit further away, just beyond Nerja.

Can I access the internet / will my phone work?
Yes – we have fast, free WiFi throughout the house and surrounding terraces, and very good mobile phone reception.

Do the studios have heating / air-conditioning?
All the studios have low-energy electric heaters for the cooler months, and fans for the summer.
Our altitude (420m) together with the Finca’s thick stone walls help maintain a pleasant, even temperature in the studios without the need for air-conditioning.

Do you serve food?
All the studios are fully equipped for self-catering (with fridge, 4 burner gas stove, microwave/grill, coffee maker, and all the equipment you need to cook and eat), and are stocked with a few basic items to get you started (coffee, tea, milk, sugar, water, salt & pepper, washing-up liquid, sponge, bin bags, toilet paper, soap).
If you are arriving late or prefer not to stop at the shops, you can order a welcome pack containing enough food for a light supper and breakfast.
Two or three times a week we offer simple ‘family-style’ dinners, using fresh local produce and regional wines, which are a great opportunity to get to know other guests.
We also have an honesty bar stocked with wine, beer, soft drinks, ice cream, and other snacks.

When are the studios cleaned?
We clean and prepare the studios before your arrival.
Linen and towels are changed weekly (additional changes €20).

Can I swim / sunbathe naked?
Yes – our pool, jacuzzi, and surrounding sun terraces are all clothing optional.

Can I do laundry?
Yes – you can use the washing machine for a small charge, there’s plenty of space to hang things out to dry, and an iron and ironing board is available to borrow.

Can I bring my dog?
Sorry – we can’t accept pets.

What if I have to change my plans?
We understand that guests sometimes need to change their plans, and will always try to accommodate this, subject to availability.
